Ditto, the data platform for unstoppable operations, today announced that Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., through its Qualcomm Government Technologies (QGOV) division, used Ditto Propagate and the Ditto Edge Sync applications as the Software Defined Network and Assured Data Layer in its tactical-edge demonstration at AUSA 2026, held October 12-14 at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center.
In the demonstration, Propagate bridged disparate waveforms and fielded tactical radios on COTS Android devices. This included: when reach back was lost, applications and operators kept synchronizing peer-to-peer, then reconnected to the server or cloud when the link returned. Integrations with ATAK and other tactical platforms also maintained a shared operational picture across disconnected and contested networks.
Ditto Propagate turns a commercial Android device into a tactical edge network hub, routing data across multiple radio interfaces at once with no custom hardware, OS modification, or root access. Ditto Edge Sync enables devices to synchronize directly with one another, reconcile conflicting edits automatically and keep the operational picture intact when communications are jammed or severed. Together, these commercial Android applications enable the 3+ billion Android phones and tablets in global circulation to form resilient data layers for DDIL environments, where the hub-and-spoke architectures behind most battlefield data layers break down.
“Hub-and-spoke architectures will not survive first contact with our adversaries,” said Eric Hanft, SVP for Public Sector at Ditto. “The tactical edge data layer has to work in near-peer conflict, where data servers are an obvious target in the era of data-driven operations. The combination of our combat-proven software with Qualcomm’s frontier transport technologies creates a new edge network architecture that is hard to disrupt.”
“The future tactical network will depend on resilient, adaptable platforms that rapidly integrate dual-use innovation with fielded systems,” said Ken Davis, VP for Global Defense Business Development at Qualcomm Technologies, Inc. “This demonstration showed how Qualcomm’s leadership in advanced wireless connectivity, high-performance edge computing and on-device AI can help dual-use commercial devices and tactical radios operate as an integrated ecosystem through Ditto Propagate and Edge Sync. By combining resilient connectivity with edge AI, we can process data and deliver decision support closer to the point of need—even when reach back is limited or denied. Just as important, these capabilities must scale economically across formations, missions and partner forces. Leveraging commercially proven technologies and global ecosystems can reduce the cost and complexity of deployment, sustain rapid technology refresh and make advanced capabilities available beyond a small number of specialized units. This dual-use approach can accelerate the delivery of interoperable capabilities and give warfighters the connectivity, data continuity and actionable intelligence they need in contested environments.”
The demonstration follows a year of military adoption. USSOCOM awarded Ditto a $17 million APFIT contract to field the Ditto Mission Fabric across SOCOM for real-time data sharing between humans and autonomous systems. The U.S. Marine Corps began evaluating Ditto in July as the data layer for Project Dynamis’ Assured Command and Control pillar, and the Army’s Program Manager Unmanned Aerial Systems contracted Propagate for drone sensor data distribution. Ditto also holds a Defense Innovation Unit success memo for maritime collaborative autonomy. Each service came to the same commercial platform independently to solve the same DDIL problem.
Ditto qualifies as a commercially available off-the-shelf solution under Executive Order 14271, which directs federal agencies to prioritize proven commercial products. The platform that runs mission-critical operations for major commercial enterprises is now being fielded and evaluated across the services.
About Ditto
Ditto is the software platform for unstoppable operations, keeping applications running regardless of connectivity across edge, server, and cloud. The company is dual-use by design: the same capabilities that power mission-critical applications for Fortune 500 companies also enable real-time coordination in disconnected and contested environments for public sector organizations.
